Congratulations to the Lady Grizzlies on their 3rd consecutive Academy  League championship. Led by Head Coach Al Rodriguez and assistant coaches  Adrian Rodriguez, Sarah Alvarez,  and Jamie McCauley. The Lady Grizzlies battled  through some vigorous challenges in league play, finding themselves with a record of 4-1 losing only to Crean Lutheran in the first meeting of these two teams. Team captains Senior Alma Campos and Junior Raylene Roybal would rally there ladyies to finish the season off strong, with big games to come against there arch rivals Oxford Academy and the second meeting with Crean Lutheran. With the Grizzlies supporting cast Sophomore Sarah Veloz , Sophomore Isabelle Alvarez, Senior Megan Bulahan, and Freshman Natalie Sanchez the Grizzlies had the right pieces to complete this league championship puzzle. With a 6th inning hit by Senior Megan Bulahan that would solidify the win versus Oxford Academy the Lady Grizzlies would have there sights set on Crean Lutheran. Now the first time these two teams met was on the Lady Grizzlies home field, with the tables turned and a drive down the 5 freeway the Lady Grizzlies had a tough task ahead of them . Junior Raylene Roybal would take the circle and easy enough to say own it, with a 11 strike out game shut out game  would put her team in a great position to win this game. With a 5th inning hit by Sophomore Sarah Veloz with 2 outs Freshman Natalie Sanchez found her self in spot to put the go ahead run in for the Lady Grizzlies, with a base hit to right center this would give Calvary the lead 1-0 over Crean Lutheran and the win! Such an amazing season so far for these ladies, with playoffs right around the corner. Stay tuned for updates on times and location …… Go Grizzlies !
