Bio:

Antoinette Duran joins the Calvary Chapel Downey Christian School Cheerleading Program in 2015 as the Head Varsity Coach.  In 2016, she helped reestablished the Junior High Cheerleading Program at Downey. Today the program is thriving under the leadership of Junior High Athletics.  Antoinette has a Master of Arts in Coaching and Athletic Administration and comes with over 20 years of coaching experience. Antoinette has a background in dance and cheered competitively in recreational programs and high school.  Her mission is to develop confident women leaders by using cheerleading as a platform to support the athletic, student, and local community in spirit-related activities.

During her coaching career, Antoinette worked with a variety of teams from elementary to high school athletes as head coach and advisor. Her teams performed at professionally televised sporting events, parades, and theme parks. Antoinette works with the strengths of her athletes to build a competitive team. Her teams have taken first place honors at GSSA Southern California Classic, Jamz Golden Classic, United Spirit Association Regionals and qualified for Nationals, National Cheerleaders Association (Game Time), and finalists at Universal Spirit and JAMfest in Indianapolis. Some of her cheerleaders went on to cheer at the collegiate level, Mt. San Antonio, Cal State Fullerton, California Baptist University, and University of California, Los Angeles.

Sheila Rodriguez

Position: Assistant Coach
Bio:

This is Coach Rodriguez first year as an assistant cheer coach. She previously participated in cheer and assisted in cheer clinics and judging. When shes not coaching cheer, she currently is a professional artist and has shown her work at several galleries and museums. This year Coach Rodriguez looks forward to assisting with the growth of the cheer team as a whole. Her hope is to continue to encourage their relationship with Christ, love for one another, and their families
